I think we’ve been wrong all this time. I think we start out beautiful, and somewhere along the way we’re convinced otherwise. Could it be that in our attempts to achieve beauty, we add on, revise, and cut down the person we always were, only to find ourselves all the more wanting of it? I think we start out beautiful, and the best we can do to be beautiful is to preserve that person, let her be. When we try to achieve beauty, as if it were something to earn or something to prove, we actually walk away from it. When we embrace the goodness already present in our souls, we stay beautiful. The best we can do is go back to the start. There we are beautiful; there we stay beautiful.
